Hi, I'm Amy. I am a Certified Nutrition Specialist® and a Licensed Dietician-Nutritionist in the state of Maryland, with a small private practice focusing on pre/postnatal and pediatric health. I work with clients all over the United States via tele-health.
I have a BS in Psychology and an MS in Nutrition and Integrative Health. As well as seeing private clients, I teach Life Cycle Nutrition in the Nutrition Masters program at Maryland University for Integrative Health, and also run training on perinatal and pediatric nutrition for other nutrition professionals. On a personal note, I am a mother of two school-aged children. I am also a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP) affiliated with Aha! Wellness Center, a multidisciplinary group supporting trauma survivors based in Silver Spring, Maryland, and HopeWorks in Howard County (on the advisory board). I am often asked what my 'food philosophy' is. I am generally agnostic: I don't push veganism, keto diets or a paleo lifestyle, but prefer an individualized, intuitive approach to eating. We are all biochemically unique, thus each of us will have different dietary needs, and these will differ across the changing phases of our lives. I have a background in research, which drives me to follow evidenced-based nutrition practice, rather than promoting food fads or the latest trendy supplements. I believe that good nutrition centers on fresh food first and foremost, with occasional use of targeted supplementary nutrients when needed. |
